2009.1 Beta is starting to show up on the mirrors.
http://wiki.mandriva.com/en/2009.1_Beta If you have a spare ~10gig partition I suggest testing on your hardware.
32 bit Alpha 1 worked for me, Alpha 2 would not get past the partition phase.

Hi all,My first question - Is it possible to have an Updatable MaterializedView and the associated Master Table located on the same database? This is the requirement scenario: One unique database D exists.
A is a batch table. Only inserts are allowed on Table A.
M is an updatable materialized view on Table A (Master). Only updatesare allowed on M (no insert or delete).
Requirement is to push updates/changes from M to A periodically andthen get the new inserted records from A into M via a refre.... read more

My laptop has builtin USB 1.1 ports, so I purchased a Nucam (NEC Chipsetupd9210fgc-7ea) USB 2.0 Cardbus 4-port PCMCIA card. It works fine whenbooted under Windoze.
Under Linux, cardmgr says: cardmgr[876] unsupported card in socket 1cardmgr[876] no product info availablecardmgr[876] PCI id: 0x1033, 0x0035.
cardctl status shows the card there.
lspci shows new PCI entries for the card.
Plugging devices into the card accomplishes nothing. It does not seem fullyalive as a USB device. Those same.... read more

What are the main differences between NUMBER(p) and INTEGER forstoring integer values? Is there any difference with space orperformance? I understand using NUMBER(p) with a value for Precision only (noscale) gives you an integer, constrained by a max of p digits. IsINTEGER the same as NUMBER(38), since 38 is the max precision? I've also heard it said that Oracle Corp recommends, or oncerecommended, using the NUMBER type with no precision or scalespecified; this way it accepts whatever type o.... read more

Hi, Am trying to resolve the following issue. I bought a used Netopia 4652 router, no info about its setting came with it. In order to reconfigure the router (or reset it to factory defaults) I need to telnet into it. However, router's previous internal IP address is not known and, hence, the problem. I tried 192.168.1.1 but it did not work.
Is there a way to determine an internal IP address that was previously used by the router? Thanks
