Hello all, I just want to know whether i understand Priority Inheritance correctlyin QNX...
Let's say i'll have two threads T_high (priority = 255, RR) and T_low(priority =1, FIFO).
Both share a Mutex --> Mx T_low has acquired the Mx and now T_High is Ready and tries to takeMx....(and blocks) Now.....
Priority = 255; And since T_Low is FIFO scheduled it will block all other threads atpriority 255 !!! is it Priority Inversion at its best!!! Way out: Never have a low priority thread .... read more

Hello everyone, I'm trying to put in some watchdog code in my application and I'm havingtrouble embedding the assembly into the code.
The sample code that came with the single board computer is written for theBorland C++ compiler. Does anyone have any sample code, or a link to somesample code that shows the syntax for embedding assembly code into the QNXcompiler.
Thanks in advance,Phil

Hello!I have the following problem: I have created an executable (MyProcess) under QNX 6.2.1 that islinked to a shared library I have written (let's call it libMyLib.so).
Now, if from a function in libMyLib any function in another sharedlibrary is called (may also be in libc, e.g. printf()) and I startMyProcess, the following memory fault happens without executing anycode: Process 249865 (MyProcess) terminated SIGSEGV code=1 fltno=11ip=703333d2 mapaddr=000303d2. ref=7820155 Memory fault MyP.... read more

Hello from Gregg C LevineHas anyone managed to get working a reliable SSH server for QNX? I am planning on making available to selected customers a QNX system to see for themselves the, ah, ease of use of QNX, but I need an SSH server to provide some level of security between them, and us. Also a complete VNC server would also be greatly appreciated.

Hello, Is it possible to determine the state (Ready/Terminated) of a thread from within the same process? I want to be able to determine if the thread has terminated or not, without actually joining it (which rules out pthread_tryjoin).
I know that the information can be gleaned from the /proc filesystem, but this would be horrendously slow and inefficient.
Thanks,Robert.

Hi There, I'm trying to port some network communications code from linux to qnxneutrino. The origional code uses xdr_sizeof to figure out therepresentation size of a structure. That call appears to be missingunder qnx. True? Any ideas if it's implemented somewhere else, or ifI have to come up with something like it for qnx.
