Vi linux solaris

Guidance please.

I'm having trouble making vi work properly when I ssh into a solaris9 e3500 from a linux machine. It says it doesn't know the terminal type and only sees 'linux'.

I know it is a configure issue but I don't know where to look for the info.

Please lead me.

Setting TERMINFO=/opt/sfw/share/terminfo should help, as that one knows about linux. Or you could just set TERM=vt100 or some such.
